Visiting Mornington peninsulea
So.. Is was weekend, and I didn't know what I was up to. So on Friday I agreed with a friend to take a trip to the Mornington Peninsula. This is an extention of the victorian mainland, alongthe bay of Melbourne. After driving for a little over 2 hours, we came to teh tip of the peninsula. There was a massive sand sculture exhibition. We decided to go and see it. (See pic)
We saw a series of scultures depicting various continents. African wildlife, Australian Birds, European Insects. All quite well done. After that, we deicded to walk out onto the jetty, where we saw a giant ray passing underneath us (Probably about 3 meters across).
From the jetty we decided to drive to the backbeach, and swam in a gorgeous little bay, enclosed by rocks, with a series of kelp and an rocks in front of the beach, after which the bay ends in a deep pool, with shallowly breaking waves. Great swims, and excellent weather!
