Flying across Victoria!

Yes, you read it right! I took a flight along the victorian coastline! A couple of chinese visitors to RMIT left earlier the expected, so an overflight over Victoria was not possible for them anymore. As a newcomer, I was the next in line to join this experience.

Early in the morning we left for the airport, where we had to wait for half an hour, untill the sky was clear enough to take off. We flew in a small twin-engine along the coastline, towards wilsons' Promontary. When we got there, unfortunately the cloud cover was to high, so we could not fly around the peninsula. Se we turned more inland, and flew across the inland towards Melbourne. We stopped for an hour, after which we flew back to Melbourne.

It was such an experience! From the airplane we saw schools of fish swimming in the surf, we flew over shallows and marvellous patterns in the surf. Every time I am on an airplane, I am amazed again with what you can see from above. And this time.. We flew as low as a few hundred neters above sea level, there was so much detail! It is something I can suggest to everyone to do someday!
